Academy bus atlantic city to nyc schedule - academy Bus or Greyhound AC - Atlantic City Forum4/5/2017 Megabus sells tickets to AC from NYC that can be used on Academy and those tickets can be as little as $1 RT. And you get the same casino bonus as full fare passengers. That's why a lot of people ride Academy even though they run less buses than Greyhound. I usually pay $5-$10 for a Megabus ticket Edited: Dec 24 romantic dinner in atlantic city, 2012, 12:48 PM tickets for routes served directly by megabus can be had for as low as $1. i myself have never seen $1 fares to atlantic city and i've purchased tickets on days the schedule has been expanded (when additional departures have been loaded into the system.) as noted previously, when you travel to AC on "megabus," the service is actually provided by academy bus lines. the fare structures and sale promos available through megabus generally don't apply to other vendors providing service through their booking engine. the lowest price i've seen for atlantic city departures booking through megabus has been $10. i actually prefer academy these days because i find the service more reliable! not too long ago, i took a 4:30 AM bus from bally's and the bus arrived completely full (the taj was the first pick-up) nj transit train to atlantic city from philadelphia, but the driver stopped by to tell those assembled that they were dispatching another bus. it would arrive in twenty to thirty minutes. sure enough free slot machines play no downloads, only ten minutes later, another bus arrived. cruiseNewYork wrote: >>. as I was told yesterday by the dispatcher that they no longer run extra busses if a bus leaves full.<< new york · 683 forum posts New York City, New York · 22 forum posts i also find the wifi to be far more available and working far more consistently (and faster) on academy busses. the thing i hate about greyhound is that almost all their busses stop at the atlantic city bus terminal on the way into town before dropping passengers off at casinos and after picking passengers up at casinos on the way out of town. invariably casino aladdin tulua, there are only one or two passengers getting on or off, but the driver often disappears for twenty minutes or so inside the terminal. this can add a half hour or more to the trip. both ways. i find academy generally to be more reliable, the wifi service is faster and works more often and the trip is usually up to a half hour shorter. because they do no not stop at the atlantic city bus terminal, as greyhound does, prior to arriving at AC casinos and after leaving AC casinos. Dec 23, 2012, 8:45 PM DO NOT TAKE ACADEMY. I used them for what was probably my last time today. They have cut so much service that getting home has become a nightmare. I attempted to take the 1PM bus from Resorts to the Port Authority today and many people were left behind. I called theAcademy dispatcher and asked if they would be running an extra bus and was told no. The dispatcher said the next bus was not until 3pm from the Taj. The Academy service is so infrequent at this point that unless you enjoy lining up for a bus an hour before departure. Greyhound is a better choice due to much more frequent service. >Is this completely standard?<< If this is the case, why does anyone even choose academy as oppose to greyhound? Isn't the price the same $36-$37 each? I think the only good thing is academy has a deal where if you buy their tickets 10 times you get 1 free ride? New York bally casino atlantic city reviews, NY · 5,692 forum posts Greyhound from Port Authority works the same way as Academy. You go to the Greyhound counter or the gate and purchase the ticket. Depending on how early you get there, there's usually a line. In my experience, the bus has never been full that everyone on line did not get a seat. If it gets that full, just get on the next bus. In the first instance, there were about 2 dozen people who could not be accommodated on the bus. The driver did take the time to let everyone know where the next couple of departures were scheduled to leave from. NYC · 771 forum posts i have been taking both greyhound and academy for years and the only way to guarantee a seat at popular departure times, particularly before or after holidays and on weekends, is to line up an hour beforehand. for both bus lines. The last few times that i rode the academy bus, this never happened as the bus always had a ton of seats available. Like if i had went to the bus stop 15 minutes before the bus leaves. i wouldn't even be able to get a seat because the line would been full. >>. those tickets can be as little as $1 RT.<< depends on what you mean by "standard." if you mean the only way to ensure that you get a seat on the bus is to line up an hour or so before departure nj transit to atlantic city from nyc, then, yes no deposit casino usa android, it is standard. but it's standard for both academy AND greyhound. and it ha been that way for years. on the less popular departures, you could show up just a minute or so before the bus leaves and still get a seat, but if you must be on a certain bus, particularly a midday or early evening departure, you really should show up 45 minutes to an hour before. NY, NY · 1,179 forum posts Dec 24 nj transit train to atlantic city from philadelphia, 2012, 11:32 AM I'm a regular "Academy" rider and I experienced this "change" on 2 of my last 3 trips: when I left A.C. at 3:00 p.m. from the Taj on Sat. 11/24; and again at 12:30 p.m. from Trump Plaza on Sun. 12/16. I'm one of those "early arrivers" getting to my departure casino approx. an hour to an hour-and-a-half ahead of time. In the second instance closest airport atlantic city nj, a Trump Taj Security person arrived around 12:15, counted down the first 55 people on what had become a huge line and then made some kind of announcement to the remaining individuals. One of the ladies near me said this had become standard at Trump Taj because of "confrontations". I'm not sure what was said (I was up front - about the 10th person in line), but a large contingent began heading away in various directions. I'd estimate that at least 30 people left the line. That day I had actually arrived at about 10:45 for a 12:30 bus - and ended up being glad I had. Unfortunately something has changed recently at Academy as I was told yesterday by the dispatcher that they no longer run extra busses if a bus leaves full. I agree with the negatives about Greyhound that UK mentions and for those reasons Academy used to be my bus company of choice. At this point however I am switching back to Greyhound for if a bus leaves full there will be another 30 to 60 minutes later at most times of the day versus Academys return service that has intervals of 2 to 4hours between busses. >>. why does anyone even choose academy as oppose to greyhound?<< You are right that Greyhound has a lot more bus for AC/NYC allowing more flexibility, especially after Sandy. The day i left they had cancelled the bus service and we had to wait for the later bus. I found out later that academy cancelled a lot of buses etc and as a result of this. everyone had to stand on a line like 1 hour before the bus comes in order to come. Is this completely standard?
